Night walk kit

Keep the shoe on. Mark where the cloth actually hits the wet grass. A sewn hem is the lasting job. Fashion tape is one night on a strap that already fits. A steamer in the room is for a crease from the bag, not a redesign of the neckline. Recheck after humidity has sat in the cloth. Do not start with a steamer if the length is still wrong.

Length with the shoe on

Hotel marble is dry and cold. I-Drive grass after a June storm is not. If you mark the hem on marble in flats, then walk out in the heel you will actually wear, the cloth drops. Mark against the shoe and the wet grass, then sew or pin that line. A temporary tape hem is an evening hold when you already know the length is close. It is not a substitute for a sewn hem on a dress you will wear again.

Florida Climate Center normals put June near the wet peak for the airport. The parking deck to the lobby is the walk that soaks a hem. Recheck after the cloth has sat in that air. If the skirt still hits grass, stop. Do not steam a length problem into a different wrinkle.

Strap for one night

A strap that already sits in a sewn channel can still walk off a damp shoulder. Fashion tape is the one-night hold for that mark. Put it on in the room, not in the lot. A boat neck and a thin strap are different jobs. Tape does not rebuild a strap that was never sitting. If the strap is too long, that is a sew, not a tin of tape.

Crease in the room

A handheld steamer is for a crease from the bag. Dual-voltage matters if the room is a hotel and the plug is not the one at home. Fill the tank. Test on a hem you cannot see from the floor. Do not steam a neckline you still need to pin. Do not steam a strap you have not taped. The steamer waits until length and shoulder are named.

Heel grips are a shoe job if the heel is new and the walk is long. They do not raise a hem. They do not hold a strap. Pack them only if the shoe is already the one you marked against.

Order of the kit

If the length is still wrong, skip the steamer. If the strap never sat, skip the tape and sew. Fashion tape is not a hem. A steamer is not a tailor.
